Self Driving Cars Grant Proposal -Our 8th grade science and STEM students will transform a Power Wheels vehicle into an autonomous self-driving car. Using Arduino microcontrollers, ultrasonic sensors for collision avoidance, and GPS modules for navigation, students will integrate coding, electronics, and engineering design in a real-world project. This hands-on experience connects directly to our curriculum in physical science, engineering, and computer science, while promoting problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity. Students will learn how emerging technologies such as self-driving systems function and gain exposure to careers in robotics and engineering. Grant funds will support the purchase of electronic components, sensors, GPS modules, and tools necessary to convert the vehicle into a functioning prototype, giving students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to an innovative, high-engagement project.
