Students will design and build rockets using a Estes Rocket kit from Pitsco. The kits allow students to design and test different wing types and have the opportunity to launch their rockets and retrieve them. Students can collect data using an altimeter and apply Newton's Laws of Motion to the motion of their rockets. I have done this project before with students in another state and the experience was the highlight of the school year. The estimated price of the the rockets for 100 students is approximately $809.
