Communication is a fundamental human right. For students who are nonverbal, the inability to express their wants, needs, and preferences often creates barriers to learning, socialization, and independence. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology offers these students a "voice"âÂÂa means to engage with their peers, teachers, families, and the world around them.We are seeking funding to purchase AAC applications for students who require another modality to communicate. Many of our students come from underserved families who cannot afford the cost of these specialized tools. With your support, we can ensure equity by providing every child the opportunity to communicate effectively, regardless of financial barriers.Within our district, we serve a diverse population of students with disabilities.
