Technology is an essential part of daily mathematics instruction in my 7th-grade classroom. My 167 students use Chromebooks for interactive lessons, assignments, individualized practice, assessments, and skill-building programs. However, my classroom has very limited electrical outlets, and students occasionally arrive with devices that are low on power or lose power during class. This can interrupt learning even when the Chromebook itself works perfectly. With this grant, I will create a portable Chromebook charging system using high-capacity USB-C Power Delivery power banks. Students will be able to check out a charger, remain at their seats, and continue participating in the same lesson as their classmates. The chargers will be numbered, securely stored, recharged between uses, and reused across all of my classes for multiple school years. A dead battery should never mean a lost opportunity to learn.
