Our therapy room is an important space where students receive sensory breaks, regulate their bodies and emotions, and develop skills that help them successfully return to learning. This grant will provide specialized sensory and therapeutic materials to better equip the room to meet the diverse needs of our students.The space is used daily by students and staff and also serves as a valuable resource for occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, teachers, and support staff. New materials will provide additional opportunities to address sensory regulation, fine and gross motor development, communication, social-emotional skills, and individualized therapy goals.By creating a well-equipped, purposeful therapy environment, students will have access to the tools they need to regulate, refocus, build important developmental skills, and participate more successfully throughout their school day this year, and for many years to come.
