I am requesting $750 to purchase sensory supplies, self-regulation tools, and sensory bin materials for a specialized program serving 22 autistic students in first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades.Students with autism may experience sensory processing differences that can affect their ability to focus, communicate, participate in classroom activities, and regulate their emotions and bodies. Providing intentional sensory supports within the classroom can help students identify and respond to their individual sensory needs while creating a more supportive environment for learning. The requested materials will give my students access to appropriate tools and activities that can be incorporated throughout the school day. These resources will support students in developing self-regulation skills, increasing their engagement in academic activities, and becoming more independent in managing their sensory needs.
