I teach preschoolers aged 3-5 years old in an Early Childhood Special Education classroom, where every child learns in their own unique way. Instead of a âÂÂone-size-fits-allâ approach, sensory tools allow students to meet their own sensory needs in ways that promote readiness to learn. Many of my students need sensory tools to help them feel calm, focused, and ready to learn. This grant would provide essential sensory materials such as weighted vests, compression vests, wobble chairs, a calming water tube, sensory tents, etc. These supports help children regulate their bodies and emotions so they can engage in learning, build friendships, and grow their independence. With changing student needs each year, having these flexible resources ensures every child has what they need to succeed. This opportunity will directly help young learners access tools that make school a positive and successful experience for them.
