I am seeking funding to launch the R & R Program - Read and Self-Regulation in my fifth-grade classroom, directly supporting 50 students. This program is designed to help students strengthen their self-regulation skills while also increasing independent reading outside of the school day. Students will track progress toward personalized reading and self-regulation goals using individual charts. To support their growth, I will provide small, meaningful tools such as sensory items (fidgets, stress balls, textured objects) and high-interest books. These resources will help students manage energy levels, maintain focus, and stay motivated to read and learn. Many students benefit from sensory supports and visual reinforcement, especially those who struggle with attention or motivation. By combining literacy goals with strategies for self-regulation, this program promotes responsibility, self-awareness, and a genuine love of reading.
