One of the most exciting things in music class is getting to play instruments. When ranking students favorites, xylophones and metallophones are often at the top. Our school is lucky to have several quality xylophones and metallophones; however, the current ability for students to access and use the instruments falls short. I am asking for a grant for three rolling table stands that these xylophones and metallophones could be placed on. Having these large, heavy instruments on rolling stands will allow students to easily maneuver the instruments around the room and play them with ease. When students can take ownership of getting out and moving the instruments, it empowers them and frees up teacher time to better instruct and assist students. Having these instruments on rolling carts also saves on set-up time, which will allow for increased opportunities for students to play them. Placing the xylophones on rolling stands, though simple, will result in a higher quality music education.
