For the past 2 years, my Pre-Engineering and Computer Aided Design students participate in a competition where students are challenged to take a stock RC car and learn the science of making it faster. Students are able to do hands on testing on the cars by changing motors, gears, tires and suspension on the cars to see what makes them faster. They really enjoy the process of testing all the different combinations of changes that effect the cars. Once their testing is complete, they compete with other students from around the state in a day long test of their cars. All of these test require us to purchase several tools, parts and supplies. Part of the fun is allowing the student to break the cars and go thru the process of fixing them. That costs money. We would really appreciate any grant to help us fund our project.
