I am seeking funding for 10 programmable micro:bit (cutebot) robots with onboard displays and rechargeable batteries for my middle school coding classroom. Students will use JavaScript and block-based programming to control the robots to create programs that respond to sensors, display information, and navigate physical environments. This project will allow students to move beyond writing code that only produces results on a computer screen and instead see their code produce immediate, observable results in the real world. Working in small teams, students will design, test, debug, and explain programs while developing computational thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and coding fluency.
