This grant will provide 58 fifth-grade students with access to a variety of engaging, age-appropriate books and individual book bins to encourage a love of reading. Funding will expand our classroom library with high-interest fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and books representing diverse interests and experiences. Each student will have a personal bin to organize and store books they are currently reading or look forward to reading. By increasing access to books and giving students meaningful choice, this project will promote independent reading, build reading confidence and stamina, and create a classroom culture where reading is enjoyable, accessible, and valued.
