An iPad and Apple Pencil would give my students tools traditional supplies can't offer. Students could photograph their paintings, sculptures, process to build professional digital portfolios, a living record of growth. With the Pencil's pressure sensitivity and apps like Procreate, they can layer, blend, and revise digital illustrations in ways paper never allows, building skills essential to modern art and design careers. This technology bridges traditional and digital art, meeting students where the creative industry is headed. High-quality documentation builds confidence and ownership over their work, while these same portfolios become the foundation for college applications, scholarships, and competitions. In a field shaped by digital tools, this isn't a luxury, it's essential infrastructure for my students to create and compete at the highest level.
