Connected to Learning
School: Boulan Park Middle School
Social studies can be a boring topic. Most of what makes it interesting gets stripped away in a normal classroom. As a teacher I have invested a lot of my own money over the years in purchasing artefact's, props and technology that help to physically connect content with students. MSGCU has been a great partner over the years helping me to afford the often expensive and otherwise unobtainable tools I seek to help provide students the personal experiences that connect them to their learning. This year will be even more of a challenge as large numbers of students must learn remotely instead of in the classroom. As a result, many of the purchases I make with this grant money will be technology related to help bridge the gap between students in class and at home. Webcams, screens and dongles that can make video conferencing better will be invaluable. Remaining money will be used to continue purchasing props and artefact's that can enrich classes on into the future. Thanks MSGCU!
