Our project seeks funding to create an accessible teaching garden designed specifically for special education students, providing hands on experiences that nurture both academic and life skills. The garden will serve as an outdoor classroom where students can engage in science, math, and literacy lessons while also developing independence, responsibility and teamwork. By planting, tending and harvesting students will strengthen motor skills practice communication and gain an understanding of healthy nutrition. This opportunity will foster growth beyond the classroom and giving students a meaningful connection with nature and their community.
