I am the Yearbook advisor for Lincoln High School in Warren, MI, and we really need a nice camera. Currently, our intrepid staff covers school events using their personal cell phones. Students take a good number of candids and selfies but struggle with other types of photos. Itâs pretty much impossible to cover sports events without a quality camera. Additionally, students tend to be rough on their personal electronics; we struggle with cracked screens and storage space when students take photos on their phones. Overall, a quality DSLR camera would expand the horizons for my Yearbook students. A high-quality camera would let us capture all school events and would provide a rich, hands-on experience for students. Weâd be able to cover many more elements of photography, far past what we can cover by just using cell phones. Students would also learn responsibility since theyâd be able to check out the camera for use at school events.
