Readers Make Good Writers
School: Greenwood Elementary
You can't be a great writer without analyzing why readers consider other books great. And the flip side of that coin is you can't be a great writer if you don't write, write, write, and write some more. In order to achieve good readers, I plan to fill my classroom library with the most current popular books. Also, I plan to let them choose a book from the Scholastic Magazine of their choice to take home for daily reading. The more my 5th graders read, the better their writing will become. That's because the processes of reading and writing are undeniably connected. To promote more writing, I will purchase festive writing notebooks, pens, and pencils to spark motivation during writing lessons.
