I am a Sturgeon in the Classroom participant, hosting a juvenile sturgeon for the school year and releasing it in the spring. I am supported by Sturgeon for Tomorrow and I bring awareness to students about this magnificent, protected Michigan species and its importance to our waters. Students learn about the unique species as well as learn about clean water, species conversation, and stewardship. I collaborated with the art teacher last year to make handmade linocuts and cards. This year we wish to collaborate again to bring another cross-curricular opportunity to students and reinforce the science learning with an artistic response. Funds we are asking for are to purchase clay, glazes, and a cardboard Chompsaw.
