The proposed project is a dynamic, student-centered initiative aimed at producing a series of Social Emotional Learning videos tailored for high school students. This project will empower students to explore, understand, and apply SEL concepts with a focus on implementing AP Language and Composition skills, creating scripts using their knowledge of the rhetorical situation, claims and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style. Lessons for this project will utilize Essential School-Wide Practices in Disciplinary Literacy by creating problem-based units of instruction framing authentic problems to establish purposes for students to read, write, and communicate beyond traditional expectations. The goal is to reach the entire student body, creating resources that integrate research-driven strategies, cross-curricular learning opportunities, and the latest technological tools to enhance academic and emotional growth while developing key AP Language and Composition skills.
