I work in a self-contained classroom at the middle school level, which involves cognitively impaired students, visually impaired, and emotionally impaired students all within the same classroom at all grade levels. I also teach students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). One of the similarities with being able to teach them successfully is with colored visuals from a colored printer. If I was chosen for this grant, I would be using this colored printer within my own room right at my desk. For example, if I'm needing a more clearer visual for a student that might be facing some challenges, I'd be able to print it instantly within the classroom and be able to implement it as soon as possible for the student. A huge portion of my students also like their visuals with real life pictures, not cartoons. With this printer in my classroom, I'd be able to take a picture of them doing the task, print it right away, and have them use that visual to help them succeed.
