At Huron Academy, our 2nd grade class is excited to launch the Huron Academy Class Investment Fund, an innovative project that bridges financial literacy, math, and social studies into a real-world learning experience. Using the $750 grant from Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union, students will collaboratively invest seed money into a shared fund to learn fundamentals of investing, saving, and money management. This fund will grow as the students progress through elementary and middle school, with the goal of rolling over the accumulated funds into individual accounts when they graduate 8th grade, providing a lasting financial benefit and a practical introduction to lifelong money skills. This project offers a new and exciting learning opportunity by introducing young students to investing in a hands-on and meaningful way.
