High School students with disabilities have the ability to request a course that teaches vocational skills needed to be successfully employed in their community. We focus on work-related safety, relationships and soft skills expected by employers. They learn what it takes to be a good worker and how to be successful in their preferred occupational setting. We provide opportunities for them to implement these new skills through hands-on job experience in schools/their community, complete job applications, mock interviews, and much more! We are now seeking funds to expand our micro-businesses opportunities within the school/community. Our goal is to be a fully sustainable business that is student-led. After analyzing student/staff surveys, weâve concluded that the $750 grant would help us purchase supplies to make t-shirts, bracelets, expand their bagel sales by adding equipment, purchasing tools and other supplies for their projects, etc. Please consider voting for our grant entry!
