With this grant I would provide materials for effective instruction through experiments, hands-on learning, and outside resources. For example, Mystery Science demonstrates concepts being taught, but often requires supplies that need to be bought. Second, as climate change and the environment become more relevant, I strive to teach about the earth through experiences. With a grant my class would have more opportunities like papermaking, seen in the picture attached, to better understand how they can help the earth. Additionally, I could provide math manipulatives and games related to math so they can see math come to life in their hands. Last, I would like to make learning more relatable to students by bringing in relevant materials or guest speakers. This could be a local program that offers items, individual speakers, or small assembly groups. These things enhance and enforce the learning experience. Often, they are the things students remember and affect them many years later.
