Working in an Emotionally Impaired special education classroom, I want to continue a school-wide incentive system that includes life skills. I started it at the beginning of this school year and it has taken off beautifully but takes a lot of money and resources to keep up with. We call it "Bolt Bucks", students earn money in my class and across all school settings (co-curriculars, lunch, recess, general education, etc.) This is all randomly given out for displaying positive school-wide expectations. Students who earn "Bolt Bucks" will be able to shop at the store and "buy" highly preferred items, trinkets, edible items, etc. Life skills are integrated into this system by instilling skills such as counting, keeping track of money, earning an allowance/check, spending and saving, using a wallet, buying product, interacting with others. asking and receiving etc.
