Books Open Doors is a project that will create countless learning opportunities for second grade students. The goal of this grant is one essential thing; quality literature. Children need access to a variety of books that are high quality, engaging, and support student learning. One way we can help build a strong love of reading is through read alouds. Books Open Doors is a project that will help to provide new literature for my classroom. Student interest will be a key factor in determining which books should be purchased from our wish list. Other books that will be purchased with these funds are titles that have been recommended by authors in the education field and presenters from professional development learning opportunities. Each book will be carefully selected and used purposefully. Fostering a love for reading at a young age will develop life-long learners. Providing students with books will open doors to endless possibilities for the future leaders of our world.
