I attended a modeling workshop in Muskegon for 3 weeks over the 2022 summer. During this time, I was trained in how to use White Board Modeling to help explain student thinking and promote positive discourse in the classroom. Providing a whiteboard to students truly helps students understand their own thinking on science concepts and understand the thinking process of other students. The goal is to utilize my training in a manner that ensures learning for all students in our classrooms. This type of work and discourse creates productive challenges and fosters thinking of students at all levels. I have a few articles if you are interested to read more up on arguing from evidence in science. Arguing from evidence is essentially the basis of modeling in science education. This article will explain using White Board Modeling in Physics, where the pedagogy began.I would like to purchase supplies for this endeavor with this grant.
