Students with language and social-emotional challenges often struggle to develop essential social skills such as understanding social cues, regulating emotions, initiating and maintaining conversations, and problem-solving with peers. These deficits can lead to increased frustration, behavioral incidents, social isolation, and long-term academic and personal consequences. To address these challenges, we propose the adoption of Every Day Speech, a comprehensive social skills curriculum that leverages video modeling, interactive games, and printable worksheets. One of its key strengths is the home-school connection component, which extends learning beyond the classroom, allowing parents to reinforce strategies and ensure skill generalization in real-life contexts. By implementing Every Day Speech, we will empower students to build lasting social skills, improve emotional resilience, and create stronger pathways to academic and life success.
