Hello! I am a teacher for students in a self-contained special education classroom. My students work hard each day to learn appropriate calming and coping strategies when frustrated or overwhelmed. Not only are they building academic skills daily, they are learning how to tolerate frustration, advocate for their needs in a safe way, and learn how to navigate a busy and sometimes confusing world. We are so lucky to have a smaller room attached to our classroom with additional space, and I would love to turn that space in to a comfortable and beneficial sensory space for my kids. As you can see from the photo, it's not a very cozy space currently. My goal is to bring in comfortable furnishings as well as manipulatives and other sensory support to make the space more welcoming. They would benefit from the use of light tiles, swings, and other sensory/movement equipment. Please help me turn our empty extra space in to a safe, calming and enriching sensory zone for them! Thank you!
