This grant will help me create engaging literacy centers that support and reinforce the skills we are learning through our curriculum. These centers will give my students opportunities to practice phonics, word work, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and writing in fun and meaningful ways. My goal is to give students more opportunities to practice what they have learned while also making literacy feel exciting and engaging. I want my second graders to feel confident in themselves as readers and develop a genuine love for reading that they can carry with them beyond second grade.
