My Classroom Cash Grant Project is focused on two goals; build a resource library to customized instruction and practice materials for my special education students as well as supplement classroom materials that will increase brain engagement and cultivate a fun learning environment. I am a high school resource room teacher. I support 17 students in grades 8th-10th. Each student has different reading, writing, and math goals in their IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) based on their individual learning needs. I need access to a range instructional resources so I can provide students with exactly what they need to advance their skills and become more confident and successful in their general education classes. My students are 1-3 years behind their peers in reading, writing, and math so I need to customize their learning and help them close the achievement gap! Also, adding fun and educational supplements to my classroom will increase engagement and positive culture.
