I would like to request consideration for a grant of $650 to furnish our new outdoor classroom with supplies and tools to support teachers and students. When we are able to take our learning outside, this gives students many learning advantages. There is research that shows having access to an outdoor learning space increases engagement, encourage creativity and problem solving, and reduce stress levels and fatigue. At Long Meadow, we have a brand new outdoor classroom that we have fund-raised for over the last several years. Teachers can't wait to use this new feature. This grant would allow our teachers to have easy access to basic supplies that could be used for varied outdoor lessons. Clipboards, whiteboards, erasers, markers, colored pencils, and other commonly used tools would be kept organized and easily accessible in the outdoor friendly cabinet.
